Fund drive to recognize 80th birthday of Jeanette Robb-Ruenz, long-time leader and advocate for the historic Ellendale Opera House

Between now and July 20, 2019 all donations to the Opera House renovation project will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to a total of $25,000 by anonymous supporters.

So, if you donate $100 to the opera house capital improvement campaign, O.P.E.R.A. (Organization of People in Ellendale for Restoration of the Arts) will receive $200.

The charitable non-profit organization kicked off its Phase I capital campaign – Building Our Future & Preserving Our Past – last September to raise $560,000.

The funds will be used to renovate the street-level storefront spaces, replace all windows and landscape around the building.

Please join us in support of the Opera House renovation and in recognizing Jeanette for her contributions to the arts and long-time service to the community. And,come celebrate her 80th birthday July 20 from 2 p.m.to 4 p.m.at the Opera House.

During the matching campaign last December, O.P.E.R.A.received a total of $10,000 in donations. Anonymous donors matched that amount, resulting in a $20,000 contribution to the Opera House project.

With the year-end contributions, the non-profit charitable group is nearly a third of the way toward its Phase I fund-raising goal. The Phase I renovation work would include installation of utilities needed to attract tenants to the storefronts, which, in turn, would help fund future renovations to the building and provide an economic boost for the community.

Because O.P.E.R.A. is a non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization, all donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. All donors will have their names listed on permanent plaques that will be mounted in the Opera House lobby.
