Opera House restoration gets more good news

The Ellendale Opera House recently received good news from the N.D. Dept. of Commerce Tourism Division – a $10,000 grant to make one of the building entryways ADA compliant.

O.P.E.R.A., Inc. was one of nine organizations to receive a N.D. Tourism Expansion Grant in the latest round of funding announced Feb. 3.
The award was "based on the potential the project has to attract visitors to downtown Ellendale by upgrading and expanding access for the disabled," Sara Otte Coleman, Director of the Tourism Division, stated in the award letter.
O.P.E.R.A. will provide a dollar-for-dollar match that will be used to construct a sloped concrete entryway to the rear door to the gallery/lobby, and paving of the parking lot adjacent to the entryway.
The work is expected to be completed this spring.
